What does an AI visibility checker actually check?
Instead of guessing whether you appear in AI recommendations, AgentSignal asks assistants questions a potential client might ask. For example: “Who should I speak to about selling a family home in Whangārei?” or “Which agents know this suburb?”
The report shows whether your name was mentioned, where you appeared in the answer, and which other agents came up. Where the provider returns usable sources, you can review those too.
Free scans cover ChatGPT and Gemini. Subscribers can also check Claude. The questions and results are a repeatable snapshot, not an audit of every possible AI answer.
What you'll see in a report
- Visibility score. A summary of appearances across the questions and assistants checked. The score isn't a claim about total consumer traffic or market share.
- Mentions and position. Which questions named you, and where you appeared when a list of agents was returned.
- Other agents. Competitors named in those same answers, so you can see what potential clients may be shown instead.
- Evidence and next steps. Available source links and practical things to review on your own public profiles.
How to use the results
1. Check the names and sources
Start with the exact questions where you're missing or mentioned. Read the supporting links when they're available. Confirm that a recommendation refers to the right person, not merely someone with a similar name or an agency of the same name.
2. Make your public profile specific
Keep your name, agency, service area and contact details consistent. Describe the places and property types you actually work with. Use clear evidence of local experience where you have permission to share it.
3. Look for gaps you can fix
Perhaps your bio is vague about the suburbs you serve, your recent experience is hard to find, or third-party profiles are out of date. Focus on accurate, verifiable improvements rather than stuffing your bio with search phrases.
4. Compare again later
AI outputs fluctuate, so one scan is only a starting point. Repeat the same set of questions after you've made changes and look for a pattern across several reports, not a promise from one good result.
Common questions
Does a free scan include every assistant?
No. It checks ChatGPT and Gemini. Claude is available with Pro, so you can see whether another assistant gives a different answer.
Will a better score get me more listings?
Not necessarily. AgentSignal measures model responses to specific questions. It doesn't track who contacts you or predict actual listings.
Can I choose the questions?
AgentSignal uses a consistent set of core questions for comparison, with limited customisation for your local market.
